Augsburg played out a surprisingly strong first half of the season and have nothing to do with the relegation battle as of yet. They have only won three of their nine home games so far, though, and might struggle in front of the goal without target man Alfred Finnbogason here.
Hamburg headed into the winter break following back-to-back defeats and struggled to convert chances in these games. They have lost six of their eight away matches this season and need to improve in order to pull away from the relegation zone.
Expect this to be a hard-fought and intense game from the outset.
Hannover had a very solid first half of the campaign and sit eight points above the drop zone at the moment. They have only picked up five points from their last seven league matches, though, and need to improve their balance again to not get drawn into the relegation battle.
Mainz only picked up two points from their last five league outings and are in desperate need of results in the battle against relegation.
